Pros

Good work-life balance in my experience. Good opportunities for lateral movements.Overall a fairly relaxed place to work.

Cons

Low salaries in most cases, and even compared to other British Council offices in other parts of the world; public service rigidities. Very little investment in staff - marketable training is almost non-existent. Big danger you'll be branded as public sector if you spend any significant amount of time here.

Pros

Good opportunity for language students to work abroad and practise their language skills while gaining teaching experience. Application process was straight forward.

Cons

Not a lot of support during the programme so enjoyment depends hugely on the host school. May be placed in very rural areas.
