Pros
Salary and overtime are fantastic. You can write your own paycheck here and make as much or as little as you like. You can shift swap so with a 12hr rotation you can get up to 7 day stretches off without using vacation time. Benefits are pretty fantastic with a low contribution out of my paycheck and a super low deductible.
Cons
Lots of animosity between the union and the company makes for a sometimes hostil environment. Also, certain areas of the plant can be quite filthy and not temperature controlled so be prepared. Thankfully they pay $2/hr more for those areas because of it.
