Pros

Because of the high stress of working at Breaktime, you become very close to your coworkers and form great friendships! Working with the Associates is the best part of the job.

Cons

Leadership is anything but transparent and consistently make decisions that are not in the best interest of employees and the young adults we work with. They are very image focused rather than mission focused. They do everything they can to maintain a perfect image despite high turnover rate among staff, poor team morale, and lack of transparency. It’s a very new organization that still does not have many important processes in place. Benefits seem enticing but are ultimately misleading. Despite “unlimited” PTO, they discourage employees from taking time off and the health insurance has a very high detuctable, unfortunately.

Pros

Hybrid schedule, benefits, peer staff are great

Cons

No support from the higher ups. Suggestions from staff are dismissed despite the fact that many of us experienced the same issues. Disempowering work culture

Challenging Environment to be Effective

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

The mission is worthwhile and most non-leadership staff care

Cons

There's a reason why the reviews are negative. VPs and ED see staff as interchangeable, replaceable parts. Leadership has long ignored the basics of a functioning, solid nonprofit. Morale is constantly low due to challenging personalities of decision-makers. HR looks the other way. This is a very frustrating environment esp. if you care about data integrity, fair treatment of staff, and realistic expectations for workload.
