Pros

Flexible hours and ability to work remotely helps work life balance tremendously. Robust benefits package, especially for healthcare and vacation accrual. Collegial environment. Connections to world-class scholars, researchers, and programs.

Cons

I work for a research institute connected to the university so faculty or more forward facing roles may not be as flexible. Typical higher ed bureaucracy but not worse than other universities. Parking on campus is challenging - take the T!
