Toxic, uninspiring, would never work there again
Pros
Benefits and tuition reimbursement are major pros. In addition to being part of an internationally recognized prestigious organization.
Cons
Workplace is terrible and soul-draining. If you’re a good person, this place will train you how to underperform, skirt the edges of ethical behavior, and will take advantage of hard workers while maintaining their boys-club culture. Of all the places I’ve worked across the country, BU had the most misogyny, racism, and classism. I was given tasks far beyond my responsibilities and pay grade and expected to exceed in those tasks in addition to what was outlined in my job description. BU lasted for years wrongfully underpaying me and many others and provides little to no support for professional development. BU as a whole does not prioritize students so if you’re looking to get into/stay in higher ed to help students and the future, stay away from BU.
