I enjoyed the researchers that made up our department, and the many ways to get together with everyone through seminars, colloquiums, and other groups.

Cons

Many of the great people left due to issues getting tenure or better offers elsewhere. BU drove away the best of them.

Good benefits, laid-back culture, friendly facilities personnel. Enjoyed the academic environment and the vacation days were good. End of semesters can get quite busy.

Cons

Advancement is not easy, minimal pay raises. I felt stagnant at times and bored without being able to advance professionally.
