Pros

It's better than being in business school, but that's pretty faint praise. There is sometimes free lunch at seminars, which is a nice plus.

Cons

The free lunches that come at seminars are often mediocre Chinese food that runs out if you do not show up early enough.

Pros

Located in the middle of Boston, so good location. Good facilities. Lots of opportunities for collaboration with other research labs, both within the university and in the Boston area.

Cons

Bureaucracy is terrible, so everything takes a lot longer to get done than it should. IT infrastructure is lacking. A lot of the buildings are on the older side.
