Pros

Great people work here. Interesting work

Cons

Bad work life balance, company does not care about your development and if you dont find a project on your own, you get left out to dry. Extremely stressful. Some great people work here, but in the current business environment they are getting rid of people without giving them much runway or opportunity. My friends at McKinsey and Bain had much better expereinces and were generally given more of an opportunity to learn and develop. While they are also cutting people, its more at the 1.5-2 year mark whereas BCG gave a year or less in many cases and was fine kicking people into a tough job market without giving them the skills or experience they came for. Despicable in my opinion, but at the end of the day, they are a business and profits are all they really care about.

Pros

Crazy benefits - you'll get to claim meals in USD (during MCO it was everyday basically), permanent employees got reimbursement for WFH equipment, medical is also in USD, they definitely don't stinge either for get-togethers or engagement events Great brand name - just by attaching to it despite being in an operational role gives people the perception that you're smart(?), you'll be a hot cake for headhunters in years to come if you stay long enough

Cons

They hire people who are not pure-doers (not as smart as the consultants, but good enough and have enough drive) to become do-ers only (literally the most manual and boring tasks that you can imagine since Workday has not been fully implemented) Some teams in HR have good culture/ balance, but the Staffing and Career Development teams have the worst. Pressure from the Partners, poor guidance from bosses and seasoned colleagues, conflicting direction to perform the tasks, everyone just wanna look good so you're on your own if you mess up - Inadvertently you feel that you're not good enough. Anyone who joins, do think of your career capital since the tasks are so manual and specific, you may find it difficult to adjust when the day comes that you leave for another role.

Pros

Generally smart co-workers, generous company benefits, fun social events, several learning and development opportunities, work travel, leadership willingness to take feedback from employees.

Cons

If you are not a consultant, expect a second-rate experience at BCG. No promotion opportunities for middle management in BST due to hiring surge in 2021 through 2023. Very little racial diversity in many BST roles (look at Director level and up). While they have announced a Chief Diversity Officer recently, they are focused on gender diversity. BIPOC talent leaving due to lack of investment,
