Pros

Boeing has so many different business areas that it is possible to try very different career paths without leaving the company. I have had many good mentors and managers who have invested in my personal and professional development. The educational benefits are also unparalleled.

Cons

It is difficult to get promotions and get noticed as a younger engineer just because there are so many baby boomers who are experts in their fields. The higher up you get, the harder it is to justify a promotion.

Pros

The best reasons to work at Boeing include the perfectible salary growth, the generous benefits package, and the family friendly environment (flexible work location and hours). Another great benefit to working at Boeing is the opportunity to move around to different organizations in the company and learn new skills and businesses.

Cons

I worked at Boeing for five years before leaving to pursue another opportunity for two years. I have come back to Boeing since that time and now have a different perspective on the company than I did before I left. One of the reasons that I pursued the other employment opportunity was to work for a smaller company. The smaller company that I worked for was exciting and provided a lot of growth for me professionally. Boeing isn't as fast paced and change is harder to incorporate than it was working for a smaller company.
