      Work with top-notch animation talent in a stable environment.

      Pros

      Blue Sky has a ton of top notch talent and offers one of the most stable work environments in feature animation especially outside of California. All our films have been profitable with the Ice Age franchise being the cash cow. The studio has recently expanded to release a film every year.

      Cons

      There isn't always a lot of upward mobility since we work on only one movie at a time. The supervisory roles tend to be the same. More opportunities could arise with the increased output.

      The greatest (and only) feature animation studio on the east coast.

      Pros

      Proximity to NYC. Smallish studio promotes faster growth opportunities (than competitors Dreamworks, Pixar). There's a pride to being the "little guy" in comparison to competition. The crew is friendly, open, and talented. Certainly the most talented group of people I've ever worked with in my career.

      Cons

      Being owned by 20th Century Fox (in LA) but operating on the east coast has inherent problems: Blue Sky management has limited power. Visionary thinking is not asked for (from management). Our movies are hampered by the same mediocre filter that greenlights and develops the rest of Fox's middling releases. Our movies always make a profit which is an unfortunate recipe for playing it safe.
