Pros

Benefits are pretty good, and the company's future looks bright. If you're lucky, your direct report will shield you from most of the mess from above.

Cons

If you're looking for quarterly re-orgs, leadership by fear, incessant politicking, a refusal to acknowledge or address incompetence, the Peter Principle in action, and an ostrich-like approach to looming disasters even when presented with proactive solutions -- then run, don't walk, to the Biogen head office (if you can find it, they have trouble deciding where to keep it) and request an application, stat.

Pros

The benefits are good. There is free soda, fruit on certain days, and donuts and muffins on Friday.

Cons

Office politics, micro managing, and lateral moves within the same department. I titled my review with that title because we we have never been a call center, but there are changes that will be taking place to make us just that. New management brings about new changes, and not for the better

No Career Development

Pros

Benefits used to be above and beyond but everyone else has caught up. So not so much anymore

Cons

No career development especially within PO&T. There is no equity (how's that buzz word for you HR?) when compared to other departments. People are leaving and all for the same reason: no upward mobility, or career development and also for the other reason people leave managers, not companies. When inquiring about upward mobility management is pretty much offended. Decades of worth of experience no matter internal or external are disregarded. They want you to work for the promotion but never actually execute. There's a small groups among ALL PO&T functions that have the luxury of moving up in title and opportunities in a very short amount of time but not for most. It is held over your head that you have been "X" title for "Y" years in manner to say we want to promote, so work harder and use more of the internal buzz words, but we actually won't promote you. In short, I'm disgusted and should have left sooner. Any mid level career candidates I would highly avoid Biogen. Junior candidates, get a couple years of solid experience and get out.
