Pros

It's an easy job. Tasks are the same week in and week out. They work around your schedule if you have school or another job.

Cons

The dress code is out of date and doing labor and getting dress clothes torn and ripped is just ridiculous. The pay is just above minimum wage, I have friends who work part time at other companies and they make much more than I do. District and regional managers just care about numbers, nothing more. Goods to be sold are old and out of date, I know that's how Big 5 gets much of its inventory but some of the merchandise is just too out of date.

Very flexible with hours due to school schedule and other activities. Teaches you how to be responsible and prompt.

Cons

Doing truck and getting paid just a little more than minimum was a buzz kill.

Pros

The work is easy to get used to, the majority of customers are not rude, the management is good, and all of my co-workers are really nice and friendly. Flexible hours, and plenty of them if you have the availability.

Cons

Dressing up in business casual makes working in the back room difficult, minimum wage pay when first hired, and minimal raises. Some rude customers.
