Lots of opportunities for learning new skills. Other seed techs were generally good people to work with

Cons

Work too many hours for too many months of the year. The tech progression system for increasing pay was near impossible. I was an over achieve and made a point of meeting all the expectations on the form, but still didn’t receive an upgrade in pay because I had the year before. Too many new managers that don’t know anything about the facility. Seed plant would have operated fine if they cut 3/4 of the management.

Great entry level experience. It’s a great place to get your foot in the door if you want to pursue research and development field. Very intriguing research.

Cons

The divide between full time employees and contractors is a big con. Lots of work to support the teams experiments with no reward, no benefits, no bonus, and no PTO. It is difficult to find a FT position to transition into.
