Pros

Ok life style as a consultant Occasionally there might be some interesting projects 90% international since no American will take the job

Cons

This is a place you can see text-book examples of horrible management team: Insecure, inapt, excel only in office politic, no patience, treats lower rankings with no respect for anything, loves bullying only the lower ranking people while ass-kissing the higher rankings. The way how it is run here brings negative surprise everyday, and it is quite eye-opening. If one survives here, he is prepared for the worst type of politics and bad management.

Pros

Large and and well respected company among the public and most customers. Excellent benefits and good compensation with fairly good work-life balance. Definitely a company that you can say you are proud to work for.

Cons

Excessive internal regulation and red-tape at times. Senior and Executive management often exhibit very weak leadership and poor decision making abilities because they are far too concerned about their personal careers than matters surrounding the business. Career development is non-existent.

Pros

Great benefits and work life balance

Cons

Low base pay, toxic management, leadership by proxy and big silos with exclusionary behavior among colleagues. DSO - organization restructure created a hostile working environment, Leadership only makes decisions based on relationships and not at all on actual qualifications! 90% of the job became toxic office politics. Little to no opportunities to move up or even laterally. The data space is severely lacking expertise in leadership, allowing anyone to do pretty much anything and call it "data engineering" or "data architecture". Zero standards, governance or any data industry standard principles are applied to any work, because leadership has no idea what those are or how their teams would technically execute anything. Severe tack of senior data engineers - actually it is zero! Duplicate work being performed by multiple teams, no code reviews or even any form of review of published work. Mickey mouse "pipelines" built on excel sheets, and datasets created with zero knowledge of "data modeling".
