Fun, great customer interaction, not enough hours

Pros

Fun atmosphere, love learning all the promotions and trying out the new fragrances. Management is super nice and willing to work with you if you have scheduling conflicts, or even personal problems (they really DO care about you).

Cons

There are never enough hours to satisfy a regular associate. Management gets 35+ hours, and the company tends to over-hire associates, leading to associates only getting 5-17 hours per week.

Pros

I have been with the company for 7 months and I really enjoy working there. I am in college and there are extremely accommodating with my class schedule and giving me ample hours to support myself through college. They have provided me with great opportunities like an elevated holiday sales lead position just after 3 months of being with the company. They recognize those who work hard with such opportunities. I have support from all of my managers including my district manager who has offered to be a reference for future job opportunities after I graduate.

Cons

Wage starts off at minimum wage or close to it (mine was slightly above). They hire a lot of seasonal workers, so around the holidays there are many employees that only work a couple days and do not have the experience of a core employee.

Pros

If you stick around through the call-ins and the holiday craziness you can learn a lot about retail. They really stress and encourage customer service and selling techniques and behaviors. I wouldn't be in the management position I'm in now with out BBW as my building block.

Cons

The short shifts and NO hours during the off season (you'll need a second job). It all depends on your team. My store is amazing but some are worse off. It is what you make it. Make it great!!
