It places workers on permanent/full time. It is known to be the best mine employer. Safe working conditions. Looks after employees well up to retirement. Good healthy facilities for its workers and families. Good safe working environment to make sure everyone returns home safely. it pays well.

Cons

Accommodation for general workers not very good.

Pros

Barrick offers great opportunities for advancement and learning. Coworkers are experienced and professional and a pleasure to work with. They're also engaged with the local community.

Cons

They expect quite a bit from their employees. There have been many days spent working from home or the office in town. They're going through a bit of a management change and are expecting people to essential work two jobs. Also, their pay isn't as high as competing companies.

Mining has started to embrace technology, digitization and innovation and Barrick is leading this charge. Therefore, if you never thought about a career in mining you may be pleasantly surprised on what Barrick has to offer

Cons

Although some of the best and brightest people to work with, the industry itself does go through commodity price cycles which can affect profitability
