Pros

smart people, global firm with chance to work across geographies, interesting business lines. well regarded in industry/externally. solid benefits for staff.

Cons

firm is now too large, especially in some parts; middle managers are now concerned about creating & maintaining fiefdoms rather than pursuing profitable growth. employee growth is limited by narrow hiring practices, especially etfs.

Pros

It's a great culture and good work and life balance. I also enjoyed the group I worked with. You're introduced to complex instruments as well.

Cons

To be honest, so far I have not noticed any downsides to working at Barclays Capital. Obviously, there are the certain people who are micromanagers, but that is everywhere.

Pros

The people I work with are intelligent, hardworking and care about the work they do. The industry is interesting, always changing and therefore challenging. Location is great!

Cons

There has been a lot of turmoil lately. Many people are more interested in building personal empires than doing what is best overall for the health of the company.
