Pros

The salary/benefits are pretty good given that it's a mid-level job (5-7 years of experience). They offer some folks a remote work option which is nice to see as other banks have quit doing that.

Cons

The HR process there is a disaster. After receiving an offer, I had to call the recruiter multiple times over a 4 week period asking where the offer documents were. Onboarding is another disaster. I spent the first two weeks without an email address...which is bizarre to me. I spent the first one month without Microsoft Teams. I then spent 3 months begging almost 10-15 diff IT admins for access to datasets and software. There were a few people on the team I directly worked with that gave off the attitude of "stop asking questions, just go do what I tell you to do" which is pretty demoralizing for new hires.

Pros

Company benefits such as private medical care and pay is good for people working in smaller towns and not cities

Cons

Micromanagement is strong within the company culture since covid. No sense of direction within the company. People who were in managment roles pre covid are managing a system they have never worked in before. Such as inbound calls. No manager has taken completed a single day or even a weeks worth of inbound calling but are expected to manage the staff with 0 hands on experiance.

Pros

Technically advanced. Mostly good people. Good maternity leave package.

Cons

Women get promoted after just 3 years on the post (even with 1 or 2 maternity leaves in between and so-so performance, although it helps if she is the wifey of some director in other department). For promoting men they really need to work hard and lucky if you are promoted after 5 years (that's if you are not Chinese, in that case you will get promoted... NEVER). Working with very intelligent quants can have some negative side effects like a good share of them are mental one way or another.
