      Strong name in the market with exciting room for growth!

      Pros

      Collaborative environment and a strong culture of sharing. No “CV top drawing” as a result candidate information is shared Each consultant knows his or her vertical market allowing them to grow their division like a business Although Business Development focused, your peers will pick up roles on your behalf without requesting a split fee – this is the norm here. Good work life balance welcoming to family orientated consultants – ability to work from home where required

      Cons

      Previously a lack of direction, however with the CEO in place a company wide roadmap has been established and communicated company wide Relaxed working environment – can be challenging if you have issues with self discipline

      Thank-you for your review. It is really encouraging to hear how collaborative you find the working environment. Collaboration is one of our values and it is always good to hear our values are being put into practice! We do like to trust our employees to manage their own working day as much as possible but for anyone that feels that they are struggling with self discipline there is a range of support available through training and mentoring. We are also doing a lot of work to improve our IT systems. We appreciate how frustrating it can be when we experience glitches but hopefully these issues will be resolved very soon.

      Pros

      -Strong collaborative environment -Excellent leadership with new CEO, actively engages with everyone int he company -Good commission/profit share scheme - competitive for the market -Significantly improved cross selling -Good culture -Receptive environment to consultants ideas - CEO question time, diversity workshops -Work life balance

      Cons

      -Different markets mean some consultants reach profit share significantly quicker, a fair few consultants who work very hard and have been employed here for a while, still have not reached the target simply based on their market. Still, this is really the same in all recruitment consultancies.

      Thank-you for your review. We are glad your experience of working at Barclay Simpson has been a positive one. We have recently revised out internal mobility policy and this should give existing consultants the opportunity to try out new markets. As you have noted it will always be the case that some markets are more buoyant than others and markets will fluctuate. We aim to do everything we can to support consultants to get onto profit share irrespective of their particular market.

      Dynamic and collaborative environment Focused and committed people with low staff turnover Targeted expansion in selected areas and great prospects for all involved Great salary, bonuses, potential equity to really incentivise Flexibility in working arrangements and a good work life balance New management structure which is really making a difference and giving everyone a voice One of, if not the best database to work with in chosen markets

      Cons

      The focus on Corporate Governance can be restrictive on PSLs. Also focusing on Corporate Governance can leave Barclay Simpson exposed if this market segment were to take a downturn.

      Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate there has been a lot of change recently so it is great to hear that the new management structure is making a positive difference. We have always wanted to remain a niche rather than a generalist agency which is why we have always focussed in governance, This enables us to truly become specialists, something our clients have always appreciated and hopefully continue to do so!
