Pros
Job isn’t hard just a bit tedious with some of the work. Good discounts and cool workers
Cons
Can be very stressful at times, some labor is involved in delivering fitness equipment in which the company pockets all the delivery fees they charge the customer, even after selling the merchandise and delivering with your labor and time they claim your hourly wage is your compensation for the $1500 sale on top of the $150 delivery fee and effort of taking it into peoples homes and even assembling. Compensation doesn’t seem right at times for the amount of work. On top of it the lack of employees or at least mature employees (most are young high schoolers) make the job more stressful than needed, almost feels like babysitting at times and becomes unbearable when one of them pays too much for something and you get blamed because the store was slammed the phone was ringing and you were working with a customer and couldn’t babysit and make sure everyone else was doing their part. Management can be passive aggressive about sales and the work in general. Store is unorganized because of the stuff they let people sell to them, some things couldn’t even sell at a garage sale. This makes a disaster for inventory not to mention the sticky labels make inventory worse. I would give worse than 3 stars but it’s not as bad as an office job or a formal job. You can show up a couple minutes late and they won’t say anything. You can have a plan pop up over the weekend and get someone to cover ur shift no problem. Very flexible environment but they can’t do much considering what they pay people. They can’t really tell the kid who’s been working there for 2 years and only making $10 to be on time every day. The kids end up realizing some of the duties are just above their pay grade and end up just standing behind the counter all day or bouncing balls around the store. This makes every employee feel like they can do this as well and management won’t say anything until sales decrease and then are up everyone’s rear ends the next month. Great job if you are looking for part time work and flexibility. Not many hours to give out and they won’t put you over 40 because most locations don’t offer benefits. They also will want you to work weekends more than anything because unfortunately that’s retail. Good first job, good part time work for high school and college students if they just want a chill summer and a little cash. Other than that I wouldn’t waste your time if you want to progress, move up in the company, get consistent and fair raises/bonuses. Unfortunately store owner and managers are on salary and the more money they make it just goes directly to their salary bonuses and SOME employees may see a 50 cent raise. Idk, almost seems like if they could, they would run the business themselves. However that is nearly impossible so they just under pay employees instead.
