Pros
The salary and benefits were good. People were mostly cordial.
Cons
The computer system was antiquated, and the tools for copying, stapling and creating binders were as well. There are myriad client/matter charge systems, and admin steps to know. Management. I have worked with good HR people. The person in charge of HR when I left was not in that category. She didn't understand the positions or workflow, and was dishonest - not that I expect HR to support employees rather than the employers, but HR can be done without blatantly lying directly to an employee's face and ... gaslighting. Gaslighting someone is truly inappropriate and toxic. She also seemed convinced that she presented as credible, which I think was the most disturbing part for me. Another employee spontaneously shared with me her story of also being blatantly lied to by this HR person as well - and her rage about it - so I know my experience was not unique. Towards the end, I was also subjected to some bizarrely petty bullying by a different manager there, so the maturity and judgment of some managers is an issue as well.
