Pros

Good benefits, friendly staff, very international, centrally locates offices are easy to reach. Very good quality of work and a very supportive network.

Cons

Workers are drowning in inane management speak. The offices are in desperate need of a face lift. Hours can be gruelling.

Too big for its own good?

Pros

Worldwide network. Colleagues can become friends - I've even met some on leisure basis when visiting a city with a Baker office.

Cons

Huge bureaucracy. Regionalization initiatives very slow, each office (sometimes each practice group) essentially its own business unit. Partners seem to compete for business/clients due to client credit system. Filters down into lower levels. Stingy with bonuses. NY office implemented bonus structure on par with other BigLaw firms in area. But other offices (notably, SF and Palo Alto) still under discussion.

Pros

The benefits are awesome. The overall company atmosphere? Pretty good especially in global services.

Cons

No room for movement, if you come in at a position you will probably stay there. Micromanagement is rampant on a manager to manager basis. One person will trust that you are supporting a global company and another will not trust you unless they see you at your desk. This isn't McDonalds (those people are heros). Personal issues are ignore by management and concerns to directors about management issues go unheard.
