Pros

It's a great stepping stone to pay for college and to find a better Job.

Cons

If your considering a Production-Associate position at BMW in hopes of a better future- Don't. It's a dire-last resort that will leave its own unique mark on your physical body in which you will carry for the rest of your life. As you may have already known, BMW is contracted out through the temp. service MAU. You perform the exact same jobs as BMW associates, but with far, and I mean, far far less pay with the "Promise" to be hired by BMW. This service usually takes about 1.5-2 years. Once hired for a mere $0.30 raise, you will spend the next 5-Years "climbing the latter" if you will to reach top pay. I cannot stand the idea of a union, but damn. This isn't the same company that had everyone falling for it in the early 90s. Today's expectation of the company is to be lied too, manipulated, taken advantage of, more false hopes, social engineering, and my personal favorite- a rumor mill. You are worth so much more than to surrender 7-8 years of your life to a company that will never appreciate your work. You truly are. There are better jobs out there that will pay more and will leave you with your own life. A 2-year degree from Greenville Tech in nursing will make far more than this place in 7 Years. Think about that.

Pros

-good infrastructure and great budget allocation for IT projects. -Nothing comes free. -Flexible working hours.

Cons

Co-workers: If you work in the BMW IT you can forget everything you know about standard IT from an international perspective. You get to work with a lot of extremely rude and arrogant people that has very little to do with IT. Some would say it is an equivalent of production band. very rare are good people. if you find a qualified person its guaranteed that they are overworked, under-appreciated and highly frustrated. Most people here spend lot of hours either staring at a monitor or sitting in meeting rooms with no real purpose. Mangagement- like most of us, they have very little knowhow on whats going on around or above them. Hierarchy is extremely important. Lack of transparency goes hand in hand with that.
