Pros

Stable, Reliable, Safe. Good people to work with. Good communications from senior management - though a tendency to come as fait accomplis.

Cons

Trend to simplicity and uniformity limits ability to contribute individually. Tendency to seek to depersonalise the workplace makes workers feel unvalued. Can be tight with expenses - even to the cost of performance. Dubious HR and IT functions overall (though on the ground people are good can rarely actually get things done).

Scale and diversity of projects Corporate culture focused on safety, environment and people Career opportunities offered hard to be matched by smaller mining companies Generous training on software, leadership, business, ect..

Cons

Large organisation = procedure, standard, ect... Division (CSG) tends to operate as individual company making it hard to transfer from one CSG to another Company focused on Australia where the vast majority of its operations are located

Pros

Great pay and benefits for undergraduates/graduate students--well beyond what other majors offer. Very lean groups meaning you'll have lots of interaction with senior management and other personnel. Newly renovated office building is nice to work in Very bright and talented employees--pound per pound they can hang with the majors.

Cons

Traffic can be horrible in Houston (offices located in Galleria area) Difficult to get recruited and convert job offers Stratified and difficult to move from one functional group to another.
