      Pros

      -good learning environment -supportive team, great colleagues and peers were nice to work with -some fun and social activities from time to time -interesting work for the right partner

      Cons

      -strategic vision all over the place -BDO is not innovative and are very slow to adopt new technology, BDO feels like a dinosaur -compensation is poor -hours can be very long with no regard for the personal lives/work and life balance of staff (not what young people want anymore) and with no thanks, appreciation or recognition for hard work -BDO benefits don't compare with similar sized companies -morale and engagement very low in some offices (many staff describe it as toxic) and BDO does little to improve the situation -newly qualified accountants cut and run as soon as they're able, BDO can't retain staff, high turnover

      The work is okay and can be challenging.

      Cons

      The culture in Solon is awful. The Partner and Director group are unprofessional (yell at each other in the office and at clients). Expectations from senior management is unreasonable (budgets are unrealistic). No one wants to work for this partner group.

      lots of opportunity for new grads, pay attention and take advantage of the programs available to you

      Local office leadership may be pawns or on their way out. BDO emphasizes interns and new grads but does not provide adequate relevant training and leadership role models. Emphasis on hours billed disguised as flexibility
