      Friendly but basic with poor technology

      Pros

      Friendly, comparatively relaxed place to work. Not as much politics as elsewhere. A sort of cut-price BNP. Very niche product offering—great for EM fixed income, for example. Structured products also good.

      Cons

      Let’s itself down by its patchy product offering, especially in equities. Technology is awful, so you’ll need to be both patient and creative to get around those. London is an outpost, and unless you make an effort, the mothership in Madrid is very remote. If you don’t speak Spanish, you’ll be at a serious disadvantage.

      decent PTO, sick leave, hybrid schedule

      Cons

      no diversity, lack of communication, transparency is not clear, there is no way to move up the chain within the New York office. why make us go to the office due to a 40/60 setup - while we still have our meeting via Webex and we sit next to each other? make it make sense. too much of an old-school mentality
