      Overall a decent place to work, but with improvements could be a great place to work.

      Pros

      Overall a decent place to work in many respects. Reasonably good pay for the work.

      Cons

      High workload. This, and continued reduction of time to interface with management and availability of services (HR, EHS, etc.), creates a situation where employees must work harder to complete normal duties, and also work harder just to be seen by top management and accurately evaluated and rewarded for performance and accomplishments.

      Pros

      The company has recently taken strong moves to promote work / life balance and allowed a more flexible work environment. It is a large corporation and it has a full benefits package including matching 401K contributions up to 4% of salary.

      Cons

      The high performance organization performance reviews / merit salary increases seem focused on justifying inflation level yearly salary increases. I am not sure if it is a downside, but the jobs are posted internally and externally at the same time - and it seems to discount experience within the company. Lastly, nobody seems to have heard of BASF - everyone seems to remember our old tapes division.

      Pros

      At times the overtime can be great if you like to work a lot. Also you have great co-workers here that make the job easy on you and fun at times. Its a very interesting job with a lot of room to learn more and try to earn more money. The general workers are represented by a union so it helps out a bit, although the union could use some work.

      Cons

      Just like a lot of places, you have up and down time, and when it gets slow there is always a possibility of lay offs. Also management at times likes to play around with company policies to screw you over.
