Pros

Benefits, competitive compensation - security of working for a cash-rich well managed company.

Cons

Typical downsides to working for a very large organization. Processes are too bureaucratic.

Pros

If you're moderately talented, you shine like a supernova. The work-life balance is good.

Cons

Dead wood is for some reason kept around. There's lots of talk about career advancement, but membership in certain cliques seems to have more to do with advancement than merit or hard work.

Pros

I loved the challenges and teamwork that goes on between everyone. I enjoyed the camaraderie in my department.Every department has its own style. The office environment and culture at CIBA is an almost academic with lots of interacting, mentoring, and sharing. People dressed in business casual and the attitude is relaxed. Many people get together after work hours. It's a supportive atmosphere for the most part. We held parties 'just because' as well. They care about safety and it is emphasize with the training and rewards.

Cons

Sometimes it got competitive with other Ciba locations when supplies are low. It can get stressful with deadlines approaching. SAP took some getting used to.
