Pros

Very good benefits package, Compensation is average nothing special, very relaxed about time off and respecting personal holidays. Exposure to large area of other expertise.

Cons

The place is run like an army. You get paid by the second! Very stiff and rigid rules from upper management, although they are trying to be more friendly as of when I was there last.

There is no incentive for growth. Benefits package is really behind the times. No matching 401K, Pension, Dental, Profit Sharing. No understanding employees need for growth

Pros

B&H is full of wonderful, warm, interesting and caring people. It is a company that its customers LOVE and B&H does an excellent job of fulfilling customers orders quickly and honestly. No games with prices.

Cons

The management treats these wonderful people terribly - your phone calls are monitored, you have to pay for local calls, your access to the internet is blocked, you have to pay for coffee, the excellent organization of the consumer-facing part of the business is not matched on the internal side. You can go for weeks without even having a phone or PC after you start working at B&H. Women and men work separately, decisions are made by irrational senior management who only listen to their closest advisers. Innovation is feared.
