Pros

Staff is great to work with. People move with compassion and a desire to learn. People want to do good work and dedicate their time to it and work with the resources they have. Some flexibility of what to work on.

Cons

- Culture has taken a back seat completely in the past few years - Old ceo's mis managed their finances and gave it a new ceo who continues to manage money poorly. Due to leadership failing layoffs were put in and more than half were people of color - Tech team was cut in half but leadership keeps talking about "digital transformation" which tech into an incredible poor and fragile state - Many *more* people left after the layoffs because of how poorly it was managed and there was extreme lack of empathy from leadership - DEI is longer a real commitment, it's just a buzzword - Can't remember the last time B lab took it's own assessment

Pros

The people are pretty great and you’ll find some semblance of community or support

Cons

Limited direction and strategic planning from senior leadership. There is no accountability and teams do not work or communicate with each other. Relations with the global network are strained and it is difficult to manage workload. Benefits are average and pay is not commensurate with expectations. There is no culture or structured, org-wide support for mid-entry level employees.

Pros

- good benefits, especially for a nonprofit - really great co-workers and global partners with people who are really dedicated to the mission - flexible work environment (for most teams) - remote-first culture but still have offices in some locations in case you want to go in and see colleagues - interesting work and lots of potential

Cons

- new CEO does not inspire confidence and is not a great communicator internally or externally - lay-offs happened in early 2023 and were not transparent and felt devoid of compassion - the culture of B Lab used to be great - very collaborative, open - but has gone downhill lately, especially when it comes to JEDI - all new leadership team was put in a really difficult position by years of poor operational and fiscal management by founders/previous CEOs, which is making it a really uncertain time - constant transitions in strategy, staff, and leadership over the last several years have created an environment of instability and total confusion over what we're actually doing
