Pros

From the cleaner to the C level management everyone id very helpful and willing to give you their time to help you become successful in the company. Compared to other American multinationals they implement changes quickly and efficiently. They pay well but do have high expectations in return. Atmosphere, management style, support and remuneration is all very good. There is obviously a reason that they are rated as one of the best places to work. Only been here 4 months but am so far very very happy.

Cons

As with any American multinational they have many rules and regulations compared to EU companies and this takes some getting used to

Pros

Autodesk is doing really awesome things and they make sure that the mission and values of the company are front an center regardless of which organization you are a part of. Development of professional skills is incredibly important, especially for those working in EIS. Courses in communication, management, productivity software, and role-specific technologies are available to all employees and managers are given a generous budget for educational expenses.

Cons

For a tech company with offices in SF, there is definitely an air of old-school corporate culture. Very few fringe benefits compared to most modern Silicon Valley tech companies. Lots of bureaucracy and top-down reorganizations occurred on a quarterly basis, most on the whim of a single manager higher up. Issues with competency with many of my peers in EIS.

Pros

Some of the staff are nice and particularly helpful, others aren't interested in helping An easy place to work - no appraisals, no goals so no pressure. Autodesk implementing new processes.

Cons

Clique culture. If you're in the right circle then you get on in this company, irrespective of how good you are. No processes. The company didn't have a HR function until it was bought by Autodesk! In my 8 years of employment I haven't had an appraisal. Not a place to learn anything about business. The marketing was slated following the acquisition and hasn't changed. Slow development. Development don't believe in developing functionality until the money is on the table - this philosophy will never work! No market awareness. The company is development lead. Developers develop what they want and the company then works out how to sell the products. This will hit Delcam hard in the years to come. No business intelligence. Its impossible to monitor customers/sales performance apart from one financial figure. The office is very dated. Its embarrassing to call ourselves a high tech company and then entertain customers/prospects in this building. The company survived for a long time with no strategy, or focus. This will change under Autodesk's leadership.
