Great place to work

Pros

- Great benefits and time off - Plenty of autonomy - Skilled co-workers - Diverse tech stacks and potential for experience - Interesting work and always things to keep you busy

Cons

- Underperforming teammates are never dealt with - Very politically correct organization. Great if you like that but it does make it difficult to have a sense of humour sometimes and always having to watch what you say gets tiring. - A lot of bureaucratic processes can make it hard to get straight decisions or see people taking accountability - Lack of growth opportunities, especially for employees with less tenure

Little accountability for leadership behaviors

Pros

Good benefits, convenient office locations.

Cons

This is a good company whose products support many different aspects of modern society. Unfortunately, there is little to no accountability for how the work gets done or how leaders behave in the process. For example, in the communications department, bullying and intimidation is common. The leaders throw tantrums, yell, make public negative comments about employees and if they complain, they may be on the wrong end of covert intimidation. The most confusing thing is that this department reports up to human resources. This doesn't give the rest of us much hope that anything will be done if similar concerns are raised. If you happen to get a good manager then your experience at Autodesk might be a positive one, operative word being "if".

Pros

Would mostly agree with other reviews. There's positive, collaborative environment and office politics is very less. Dealing with middle managers can be tricky, but nothing hugely alarming. They have good catalogue of products and their mission is well-put.

Cons

I have been laid off twice. Had managers changing every few months. During my second stint, it was all talk and no work. They spent more than 7 months to define team charter and then one day removed me without any feedback. If you are in an engineering role or bring some domain expertise, you could have a secure future here. If you're in one of the support roles, you will never know when you'll be removed... especially designers. UX Design is mostly afterthought here. There is no formal design review, no internal design community, no focus on a design system. Product managers mostly run the show and engineering complies. If you want to build significant influence within the company, you better not be in APAC. Decision making is mostly centralized around US.
