Pros

Happy hours, $10k yearly education reimbursement, and some great coworkers.

Cons

Ever since the re-organization from Medimmune to AstraZeneca, I felt that there were no growth opportunity and that the higher ups were more focused on promoting themselves rather than leading the team. I also had the worst company leave experience, where instead of the managers asking me for my data, they went through the HR. The HR told me I could leave a week early from my last official day in exchanged for the link to my data. When I kept asking the HR for this to be written in an email, HR threaten me that I would be escorted out of the building and that they will not provide me anything that I could use against company. Feeling uncomfortable and threatened, I gave them the data, and they deactivated my badge before I could return everything to the company. Really upset about my leave experience after 5.5 years with this company.

Pros

Access to cutting-edge technology due to nonexistent budget Opportunity to grow Good benefits

Cons

Horrendous work/life boundaries that have driven high turnover rates. You are given so much work that inevitably your job will become your life. No plan for training. Every opportunity to learn is, unfortunately, a trial by fire. Unreasonably high expectations for a lack of direction Mediocre pay

Pros

I’ve worked in AZ over 2 years. At the beginning the office, salary, benefits and the policy of treating employees made me feel I was in a story tale. Coworkers were fantastic and super friendly (at least in the first team I worked). Unfortunately, after few months my rose-colored glasses fell to the ground with a thud when I realised how toxic environment I needed to work in.

Cons

The worst management I experienced in my several years of career as a data analyst. During these 2 years I had two team managers, both same horrible, inhuman, unprofessional, unsupportive, pushy, without any experience in people management, using micromanagement, pushing you under a moving bus in critical situations, leading you directly to the depression and panic attacks. Under their fake smile there was a lot of rudeness and selfishness. Higher management knowing what was going on did nothing to improve the situation. The rotation was the highest I’ve ever seen in both teams. Additionally, the company pays in Poland around 80% of market median and have unpaid overtime, so my disappointment was really huge. Be also prepared that the new joiners can get even 1,2-2k pln more than you on the same position for some time.
