Pros

Pay is good and in line with market rates

Cons

The company is big on Inclusion & Diversity, which is good. However, the push for I&D is also making minorities, especially blacks, targets of micro aggressions, overt racism, sabotage and tokenism. I have watched black women get belittled, demeaned, ignored, disrespected and bullied. There is resentment towards people of color in the workplace. Some workers perpetuate the stereotypes that they are dead weight, stupid and lazy. They are policed and critically judged as always lacking and inadequate. Sadly, some of the people of color who work here have bought into the same narrative and join in on bullying other people of color in an effort to secure their positions of favor. The pay is good, but anticipate to be treated like a second class citizen by some of your colleagues. You will be ignored. And generally dismissed and disrespected everyday. Also, the company says they trust their employees, but they really do not. They are forcing people to return to the office when COVID-19 numbers are spiking, employees are expressing concerns for their well-being and other companies are pushing back their return dates.

Used to love it, now leadership seems tone-deaf

Pros

Great pay, great benefits, lovely colleagues. I've been lucky to have really great line managers who have always respected my expertise.

Cons

After 17+ months of working remotely and delivering above and beyond on our patient commitments and internal goals, the senior leadership team is now forcing employees to return to the office 5 days a week. We didn't even go in that often prior to the pandemic. While the written guidance touts "flexibility," the guidance to line managers has been clear - 5 days a week, or there will be a problem.

Toxic culture

Pros

Salary and benefits are good (for Cambridge), but are not worth the cost to mental and physical health and wellbeing.

Cons

Work/life balance is non-existent and bullying is commonplace, even within the HR department (shocking and disappointing), The most toxic culture I have had the misfortune to experience so far in my 20 year professional life. The irony is they make medicines that help improve, even save people's lives, but as a company they do not care about the wellbeing of their staff.
