Pros

Fact: If you're an engineer, then you get paid a lot. If you aren't, then you're a peasant and get abused by said-engineers through entitled requests.

Cons

- Bribes employees with bonuses as a way to over compensate for the amount of stress this job gives its employees - Extremely entitled engineers that demand you to pay for their personal life expenses (and get away with it) - Causes severe amounts of anxiety due to clueless Executive Assistants - Non-existent 'work-life' balance that they claim to talk about so much - The stress from this job will cause you to go on medication - Everyone looks out for themselves, so middle management benefit and don't promote lower grade employees since they feel threated for their own job security - Bullying is 'looked the other way'. You can report it, but nothing gets done about it.

Pros

Good salary and benefits mostly great people to work with nice offices flexible work approach

Cons

Poor communication Management don't appear to know the direction of the company with restructures occurring at least every 6 months Lack of transparency in restructures with people being let go in secret - culture of paying someone to make them go away Very poor HR department - unaware of HR related legal regulations, systemic people issues not dealt with Evidence of discrimination and unethical behaviour with employees not wanting to report this for fear they will be 'asked' to leave the company A lot of senior people who don't seem to do any work - or at least create any outputs, wildly inefficient It appears a lot of people are promoted because they've been in their role a certain amount of time or they have a poor line manager who will not challenge requests for promotion As above, line managers lacking the skills needed to manage people. This results in either people running amok, doing no work or not getting developed as the company promises

Pros

Recognised name in the industry. Access to state-of-the-art hardware and software years before official releases. Opportunity to get in touch with a large amount of big names in the industry and build relationships.

Cons

Mostly no products - no focus at all on execution and delivery Lot of duplicated work between teams, almost absent communications between groups working on the same things - eventually this leads to re-organisations and layoffs Incredible amount of middle managers and self-declared tech leads who don't really lead anything, apart for their career in some safe spot. You can pass your day basically doing nothing and nobody will ever complain, unless you don't get along with the management, than they will pick on you on the next round of layoffs Went downhill since Softbank acquisition, as Softbank is either using Arm for financial/political reasons or they don't have a clue of what to do with it - basically late on every possible market expansion opportunity apart from mobile (AI, servers, autonomous driving, etc). Lots of inexperienced hires doing fundamental technical work, hence the work created on top of that will be flawed. No exit interview.
