Pros

Was a great place to work in the 80's and 90's. Family atmosphere, wonderful people. Still has decent salaries and benefits.

Cons

Arkema (especially the Carrollton, KY plant) is dying on the vine. Horrible management. Senior management was ducking for cover and constantly pointing the finger at Operators and Engineers for poor plant performance. The personnel review system is being used to carry out personal vendettas and pay for performance is a joke. A thriving plant in the 90's has been reduced to nothing and it was NOT just the economy that did it.

POOR CAREER CHOICE!

Pros

Benefits are competitive with region. If you are French, you will have a great opportnuity for advancement. The company still retains a couple of token US employees as "yes men" in senior management roles to act as communicators to the local employees and customers.

Cons

Since 2007, senior management initiated a program to replace loyal experienced employees with cheaper lower cost newbies and run the company from France. US employee moral is very low and customer relationships and satisfaction in the US have sunk to extreme lows. Turn over is very high.....

Pros

Good benefits, although the pay is mediocre. This company is good place to start a career. Just don't count on being a lifer.

Cons

Nepotism that favors French employees, little chance for Americans to advance far. Working for the company is like being in a Blade Runner movie. They are downsizing the company on the backs of the senior employees. Those over 55 got paid off in the form of packages to avoid age discrimination lawsuits. Those 40-55 are being fired on a routine basis on trumped-up charges, so the company can avoid paying severance and unemployment. The work environment is truly stressful.
