Pros

Flexible hours Reasonably good pay Quite an easy and pleasant job I can now add 'ability to balance a slow cooker on my head while climbing a ladder' to my list of skills Friendly employees

Cons

Healthy & Safety training was practically non-existent - perhaps it was only temporary workers, but we had no manual handling training and were just given ladders and expected to get on with it. I injured myself a lot, including a head injury. Poor communication regarding changes to shifts. Not particularly good at handling Autistic employees. Staff were not praised enough for using their initiative and going the extra mile to help customers.

Pros

10% discount, (20% on one day of the year, however can only be used on one transaction). Other staff members are lovely and helpful Team leaders are appoachable and helpful Flexible hours

Cons

Rubbish pay! I'm 20 and get under living wage due to my age. Managers aren't very organised (minus 1, one is very very good) Too much drive into insurance of products and Argos cards! The work place is very dusty (be prepared for grey coloured hands if you are picking items) The stockroom has really high shelves and ladders that aren't big enough The shelves are way too close together Expected to carry heavy items (often over 20kg by yourself) Can be very stressful at busy times of the day Staff levels are stupidly low (you have to keep asking to go on your break otherwise you'll be forgotten as no-one to cover you) You only get 1 set of uniform (jacket, trousers and 2 shirts if you're lucky) The training is extremely long!!

Pros

Company can be flexible , sometimes lots of hours to work. Varied work and lots of customer interaction . Not generally open early or late

Cons

Managers can treat employees very poorly. HR do not care very much. The work load was ever increasing . Staff is short can this can lead to some stress. Excessive focus on sales pitching and hard sells
