Pros

everyone you work with will be as unhappy as you

Cons

Far too many managers/team leaders all pretending to do something while everyone else gets crap for falling behind. i worked out front and got nothing but complaints on wait times while stock room staff stood chatting in the back. they do everything to encourage online ordering (fast track) but still expect you to hit targets in empty stores. staff pressured into buying/ taking out insurance plans or store cards to increase the days numbers.

Pros

Was working over 5+ years as a student in Argos 4102 (Slough Bath Road) - Decent jokes had with people your own age. - Work was not mentally difficult

Cons

The place was incestuous in all manner of ways: - Plenty of incompetent staff there only because of a family link. - People hooking up left, right, and centre. Some of these people were married to OTHER PEOPLE. Like it wasn't even the young people at it either. - Too many creepy guys perving on staff and customers alike. TBH the female members of staff were inappropriate in their own ways too. Illegality: - The store manager refused to pay people for hours worked. Had to log it down and pester him every week to make sure my pay was correct. Believe he did this deliberately to make his productivity numbers look better. - Health and safety ignored. Had 1 person covering both the upstairs and downstairs stockrooms at times. -Pay was so bad that plenty of members of staff were regularly using foodbanks. - Relaxed attitude to missing stock (possible theft)

Pros

10% staff discount on Argos and Sainsbury, flexible hours and rota changes every week so you are not stuck doing only weekdays or only weekend as it changes every week. When you make plans and you inform them in advance saying you need a particular day off, most of the time you get those days off.

Cons

Not knowing my coming week rota until like friday or saturday night which is quite annoying as you can't agree to any plans because you don't know your rota.
