Pros

Very few pro's. Money is literally the only reason i go to work on weekends. Staff are quite friendly and social, but I dont go to work for friends, i go there to earn money

Cons

1. Inconsistent hours. 2. Terrible rota system, can and will change regularly without warning. 3. Nothing ever seems official, e.g. holidays and notice of absences are written on paper or told to management and then disregarded or "lost", then when you remind them of the absence youre the problem. 4. Unbelievable expectations when working on till. The new "e-receipt" system where you need to acquire 20% of customers email addresses. Also the product care that nobody wants because of the ludicrous prices. 5. Under training. Ive worked there nearly 2 years and still dont know how to use some basic software. Ive mentioned it to management, theyve mentioned that i dont know what im doing and still nothing happens. 6. Favoritism. Certain team members get far more hours than others. 7. The people who put away deliveries seem to think its either funnier or easier to misplace items, so when someone goes to collect them theyre elsewhere and makes the picker look stupid and they get away with it. 8. Overworking some staff while the managers do naff all. When busy they may venture out onto shop floor and criticise you, while others are rushing around. 9. No sympathy for staff. If you misread the rota they probably wont let you know until after your shift ends and you go without your daily pay. 10. Always feeling disposable. Theyll call when they need someone to cover a shift, but if you specifically ask for more hours there is little to no chance you will actually get more hours. 11. Headsets. Unhygienic and makes you seem rude and unsociable to the customer. I once had to wear a headset straight after someone else where the headset was actually damp with sweat, disgusting. 12. Stockrooms. Too narrow to carry that wardrobe or lawnmower through, too warm in summers and too cold in winters, lonely and doesnt even have a window to let in natural light. Spending more than 3 hours in one of these places is horrible. 13. Breaks. 15 minutes for 3 and a half to anything under 6 hours work. 30 minutes for 6 to 8 hours. An hours for 8 hours plus work. They will always ensure you work 15 minutes short of a longer break. 14. No career opportunities. Maybe to deter you, in the hope you find a better job and save your life.
