Pros

Decently flexible hours, a good amount of training beforehand, relatively easy interview (they're not picky about who they hire), decent amount of variation between tills and stockroom work if you can be bothered to negotiate with them.

Cons

Incredibly stressful especially on young employees - they put far too much pressure on 16-17 year olds, even part-time workers, setting ridiculously high targets that are next-to-impossible to attain for young employees. An excess amount of managers that makes it confusing concerning who has authority and who to defer to; one manager in particular was condescending and patronising on his best days.

Pros

Decent place to work, only if you got the right people you working with

Cons

horrible rude colleagues. colleagues eating drinking, talking to other co workers avoiding customers. management not rewarding staff that are selling fairly or hitting targets, management picking their favourite staff and rewarding them for every little Argos cards or product care sold. staff miss selling not explaining how argos card or product care works just so they can hit targets. management does not take things seriously when you raise the issue, unfair hours given, they will give more hours to favoured who they like personally. management will turn blind eye to people who are messing about and not doing work properly because management does it them self eat drink talk and expect you to do more. i think management are scared of telling staff off. some colleagues have more contract hours than you. when you go to manager to raise the contract hours they will make excuses why they cant give it to you. i don't know how other stores work but the store i work in is horrible.
