Pros

Great people to work with and opportunities exist to progress onto management role within stores

Cons

- Wage structure is a complete shamble especially in London where certain stores are paid less due to being in a different pay band. This is further made worse by the fact that certain Hub (A larger store that deliver stock to customers and smaller stores in its locality) and Spoke (Smaller stores that receive daily delivery from a Hub store) stores are in different pay bands and therefore colleagues in a Hub store for example would be receiving a slightly lower wage to someone in spoke store. whats more, Hub stores are almost a 24hr operation and have much more going on than a Spoke store. - The wage rate is rather low when compared to competitors and whats alarming is everyone at retail level is paid the same rate regardless of their job role. For example, a Customer Service Assistant is paid the same rate as a Customer Fulfilment Driver (Delivery Driver for a Hub Store) with certain stores adding only a few penny more. whats more, the rate is shockingly low when compared to direct competitors such as City Sprint and DHL and ironically one of these firms is being contracted to help out with store deliveries rubbing insult to injury. - Managers in certain stores have a habit not to pay their staff correctly and at the end of the week can expect to see hours missing. Management have to be constantly updated every week regarding this and when confronted about any missing hours, they'll respond by saying 'not enough hours this week to pay you'. If they fail to update payroll before its released, expect to wait till following month for those missing hours.
