Pros

It is Apple after all, saying you work for Apple is really the only incentive.

Cons

Retail hours aren't for everyone, prepare for working 10 days in a row on occasion, and working most weekends as well. Get used to dealing with customers on at all levels of expertise, or lack thereof, you know nothing, get used to many heckling your job title as well. As a Mac Genius you're expected to know everything Apple, be able to fix everything instantaneously without even touching it, and make everything happen right here right now.

Pros

The benefits are great and the brand value it adds to the resume is fantastic.

Cons

I worked in the Pac Ops L&D department for a significant period, but unfortunately, my experience was very bad. The SG PAC Operations team is plagued by poor leadership and mismanagement. There were no real growth opportunities, and my manager, she was relentless and highly controlling, often micromanaging and focusing on trivial matters. Even something as simple as a newsletter required five conference calls, only for her to take over and complete it herself in the end. It left me feeling like my efforts and time were constantly devalued. The work environment is also highly political, it's like they are at war with Apple CA and Apple Europe, constantly trying to not work as a team. If you are in the “right” team, you may have a good experience, but if not, it becomes extremely difficult and very demotivating. HR is almost non existant it provides no meaningful support, as they tend to side only with managers. Several employees, including myself, left because of our manager’s behavior, but no one took any action or even acknowledged the issues.

Pros

salary, work environment and benefits

Cons

Micromanagement The targets set are often unrealistic, making it difficult to achieve success and maintain morale and once you hit the target, they will set another unrealistic target. The support area is too broad, spreading resources and attention thin. Employees are often expected to handle tasks outside their job description, leading to confusion and burnout.
