Unsustainable decision making

Pros

Beer allowance, good benefits, on-site dining and after hours beer bar.

Cons

Following acquisition of SABMiller there seems to be a lack of sustainable decision making, and under-appreciating the complexity of the new larger group and regions that have never been operated in before. People are doing / causing constant rework as tasks are asked for in piecemeal, rather than planned out or "fully considered". SABMiller wasn't a place that had what you could call a great WLB, however this is even worse in the new world on AB InBev, with the expectation that you are on the end of a phone at any hour of the day.

Pros

Quick Advancement if you are mobile. Sales training program places college graduates into mid level management positions.

Cons

Senior management applies a paralysis by analysis mentality. Senior management demands results, but often does not supply the means to deliver. Upward movement tilted away from experience and more to push trainees to higher positions. Bonus rarely gets paid out, often receiving full year targets half way through the year. Work/Life balance is preached, but is not followed. Region VP's are from outside the US for the most part, and do not understand US dynamics of day to day business and customer relationship needs.

Pros

Good opportunity to work in large scale operations and learn how to manage people, especially in a union environment. Before InBev buyout, people were proud to work for AB.

Cons

After InBev buyout, employees are now just a number and all of the good people ended up leaving. They cut anything that helped work/life balance and made bonus targets nearly impossible to achieve.
