Pros

The environment is very much oriented to casual hazing, accepting top down directives without question, cliques, and a work hard play harder mentality. Some of the MDs still act like they're in a fraternity which makes happy hours and company parties lively.

Cons

If you are out of the clique expect to be a target.

Pros

They listen. They don’t act on helpful feedback, but they will listen. The firm is made up of a few great leaders and a number of great humans. Good place to start a career, but not a great career home for most professionals. Not the worst hours in public accounting.

Cons

Things I will ALWAYS remember about Andersen: - A lot of their top performers make the least amount of money on their teams and are definitely below market. - Leadership begs for loyalty, but fails to reciprocate often. - They want you to ask for the resources you need, but they’re often too cheap to provide them and/or it is too difficult to get approval…mostly because they lack processes. - If you’re interested in making an impact expect a lot of red tape. - I know partners that prepare their own returns. - A lot of politics and favoritism.

Pros

Good training, decent client group to get start with, some colleagues are nice depends on who you work with. some partners are really good in technical field.

Cons

favoritism, nasty office politics w/o promotion if you are not one in the favorite group regardless of how hard you work. Someone can get promoted as long as they are protected by the leader of the group regardless of the actual work/technical skills.
