Pros

You come for the mission, stay for the vibrant remote work atmosphere, and if you get to attend in-person offsites, the kool-aid is very appealing. Fully remote and very flexible working hours in majority of roles. And some of the smartest and most fun people I've worked with anywhere are giving all their energy and brain power to the work.

Cons

Politics. Layoffs. Fake diversity. Financial crisis. A deliberate turning of the ship away from the original mission, so now it's just another neo-colonial shill in a crowded market, trying to differentiate by developing superficial and unoriginal uses for genAI without doing anything truly innovative. Constant churn at exec level. Everyone asked to temporarily "do more with less" two years ago, and balance was never restored. If you're in a good team, you will be insulated from the worst of it, but if you have any exposure cross-functionally, you will then be completely shocked at the toxic atmosphere and lack of psychological safety in other teams and orgs. You could have the best manager possible, but the Andela machine does not care about individual workers, regardless of what they might say otherwise.

Pros

flexible working hours, nice people outside of the leadership

Cons

In the last 6 months, people on C or VP levels started to leave, leaving everyone thinking what is going on - Jeremy (CEO at the time), preferred to be friendly rather than compliant - redundancies every 2 months for the last 2 years, cutting the team more and more, giving more work to employees without any financial recognition - hiring friends of friends on C & VP level, bringing horrible culture - spending money on new systems every 6 months and then trying to get out of contracts with providers - contractors have more benefits than full-time employees - no bonuses below the Director level
