Pros
The company trusts you to deliver. They set clear achievable goals both when you are joining and on how to go up the ladder. The management listens to employees, and is aware of market trends and uses all this information to make decisions - free food (not to googles amount but still free) - gaming area/pool etc - health beneifts - I work on my own hours be it 8-5, 19-00-12:00am, 02:00am -7:00am so long as Im available for team meetings - Great culture
Cons
I guess the one thing most employees have an issue with is the pay. Andela is a contractual company. Andela's business model is about training developers, outsourcing them to other companies and they make a cut. In such a case if I was working for say Google... I would take on the same workload as a google developer but I would not be paid nearly as much. On the other hand, Andela is slightly more competitive than the local market where they have physical offices so developers do meet their cost of living. I should add that the company makes this clear when one applies to join.
