Demotivating place to work

Pros

A great place to meet/interact with great minds.

Cons

Modern-day slavery: You are paid $6000 USD per year and expected to work at the same pace as an engineer in Silicon Valley. The concept of a "funded 4-year learning program" is a lie, given that you earn a-tenth per month of what you make for Andela working with clients.

Pros

- mission & impact; I feel like I'm making a meaningful dent in the world. Esepcially this current political climate, nothing matters more. - people: can truly call the people I work with friends an not just work friends, but life long friends. I've yet to meet someone who is here for the $ - and that's inspiring. - fast growth means increasing opportunities and responsibilities - our EPIC values - an incredibly well articulated set of values - and ones that are actually followed. To know that I'll advance through merit alone is something I need at every job. - traveling for work has never been so much fun. I have yet to take a trip to Nigeria, Kenya or Uganda that has not included a rooftop dance party.

Cons

- people leaving hurts especially when you're so close - even when it's because they are going to stanford business school - fast growth means there's always more work to be done. Can be overwhelming

Pros

Work from home, a lot of holidays off

Cons

Almost everything. This place has lost its culture with the worst leadership I’ve ever seen at the c-level. They will promise you things to keep you to stay and then push you out. Multiple layoffs in certain positions just to bring that position back just a few months later. Unrealistic goals to keep the stress level high for everyone involved. Company runs off a “good boy” system and only “yes men” get promoted. Do yourself a favor and go work for another company
