Great entry level social services job

Pros

This was an perfect job to gain experience in social services. The after hours work allowed for very good job flexibility that worked well with school.

Cons

There was no connection with the daytime staff so it made it impossible to really feel like you were a part of the team or truly working towards the mission.

Excellent source for non-paid volunteer work experience, and great for job references.

Cons

If you work full time, I would not bother. Also you have to sign up, and wait for a orientation to register with them. Yes, its non-paid.

Pros

There is a definite acknowledgement that daily work impacts the lives of our friends and family members. Most workers share the passion to contribute to the community. The company has invested much in the roll out of the new computer system that will be of benefit in terms of consistency and compliance and positive donor experiences.

Cons

Changes are constant and not always of value. The lack of communication between the various functions at least in Biomedical Services is evident on a frequent basis. The project plans are well established but timeline slips are routine.
