An all around mess

Pros

You are doing a genuinely good thing, they also train you in phlebotomy and there are a lot of opportunities for moving up

Cons

The reason there are a lot of opportunities for moving up is because the turnover rate is so high. The work-life balance is terrible, the scheduling is done by people upstate who do only go by what google maps says when it comes to drive times. The people who organize the drives are so concerned with meeting number expectations that they will keep organize drives in unsafe spaces (no longer do onsite inspections since COVID) and will keep drives open even when it is dangerous to do so (no ac units causing ice to melt, spoiling the blood product, heat in drive space causing donors to have adverse reactions). Management treats you like you are trying to get away with something when you raise concerns, and they do not treat you like a professional.
