Pay limitation can be frustrating. Average at about $22-28 an hour which is decent so no complaints but after years of experience it can be tricky gaining any raises even with added responsibilities. Also the bosses working amongst the girls can be very problematic. Your day depends on the mood their in when they do come in unfortunately. If they're stressed or in a bad mood, everyone will be regardless of how happy everyone was at the start of the day. Which can cause a lot of problems with how much work you can get done or your attitude towards customers...so it pretty much snowballs to a worsening day if the bosses are in a bad mood. Aside from those odd days though (or the days when the bosses aren't there), it was a fantastic work environment for sure. Be aware that those in charge don't appreciate sick days & unfortunately (even if the situation is dire or an emergency) it can be 50/50 whether you will get on their bad side & be scratched off extra shifts in the future or if you will be understood. Sick days aren't a liberty, they are something staff are entitled to take without any heat from the owners. Though a lack of extra staff is the true reason why this has been an issue to start with so it could be easily resolved. The only thing lacking on top of that is a manager not being present (and the role being handed around to whoever might know how to resolve the issue which causes more problems than were originally there). Especially with unsure staff (even senior members - because its not their area to know how to resolve these issues) or even worse when we have to deal with aggressive & on some occasions threatening customers. THAT is the main concern. Aside from the liability that opens the owners up to should anything happen to their staff (because unfortunately there are girls working there who are underqualified to deal with those situations & then met with unstable drug addicted customers, aggressive or sexually inappropriate male customers as well) these situations put the girls in harms way & there is a clear lack of protection for them. It's a lawsuit waiting to happen without a manager or SECURITY present (because while the staff try to handle most of these issues, there should DEFINITELY be a security guard present as there are in MOST pharmacies to protect staff from these situations...and would likely result in less calls to the police to help with shoplifters etc). So some major cons that need to be addressed there by the owners but luckily you have a very supportive team to get you through any of those occasions. That aside, you would also need to be assertive in your positions responsibilities & make sure you don't take on too many responsibilities without extra pay. Can be tricky but you aren't paid to go out of your way (even though the pay rate is decent enough). Aside from that there aren't many other cons to be honest.
